Hardware Overview

AMD Ryzen 5 1500X PC build

I am going with the AMD Ryzen 5 1500X processor for this build, it is AMD’s answer to Intel’s i5 series of gaming processors. The Ryzen 5 1500X is the best entry-level high-performance gaming CPU in the market right now, it offers better value for money than Intel i5 7500 and 7600 CPU’s. The 1500X comes with 4 CPU cores and 8 threads clocked at 3.5 GHz with a max Turbo speed of 3.7 GHz and you don’t need to worry about overclocking as it comes unlocked. It is manufactured using a 14nm process and has 384KB l2, 2MB L2, and a whopping 16MB L3 cache, as all the Ryzen series CPU’s it fits on an AM4 socket. The Ryzen 5 1500X is a great processor for Video editing and content creation apart from gaming, it is also future proof for VR and AR gaming.

Graphics Card

Zotac GTX 1060 3GB

The most important part of a gaming rig after the CPU is the graphics card if you don’t have a great GPU it doesn’t matter how powerful your processor is, it will be bottle-necked, it will suck and it will be useless for many games. So we are going with the best GPU that we can get under our 60K total budget, the Zotac GTX 1060 3 GB DDR5 Mini graphics card based on the Nvidia’s best GPU architecture ‘Pascal’. It comes with 1152 CUDA cores for the best gaming experience, clocked at 1506 MHz base and boost speed of 1708 Mhz with 8Gbps 192-bit memory. It draws 120 watts low power, however, you need 6 pin power connector. Nvidia G-sync technology, Physix, DirectX 12, OpenGL 4.5, Multi-monitor, 8K (7680x4320p) resolution support. This is the GPU of choice if you want to play games at ultra settings and want a VR ready PC

For the motherboard I have chosen the Gigabyte GA-AB350M gaming motherboard with AM4 socket, it is the best gaming motherboard under Rs 8K and it looks great in the red and black color theme. It comes with two PCIe 3.0 slots onboard and 4 DDR4 RAM slots, max 64GB memory with 2133 MHz to 3200 MHz speed. It supports all the Ryzen series and AMD 7th Gen processors. Connectivity options include 6 USB 3.1 ports at the back and two USB 2.0 ports, standard audio ports, HDMI, DVI and VGA connectors, an M2 SSD slot, 3 internal FAN headers, 1 x PCIe 1X etc.

Memory and Storage

For memory, we are going to use the HyperX fury 8 GB DDR4  RAM clocked at 2400 MHz base with auto-overclocking up to 2666 MHz. It comes in a very stylish low profile heat spreader design and low power consumption.

Storage options include a 120 GB WD green SSD for super-fast performance and WD Blue 1 TB internal HDD. Using an SSD for OS installation results in faster boot-up times and games on the SSD run much more smoothly and provide few frames higher compared to HDD.

Gaming Cabinet

I have selected the Corsair Carbide series Spec-01 cabinet for our build, its a pure black cabinet with transparent side-panel and red LED lighting. Features of the Spec-01 include Cable management, support for very big graphics card up-to 420 mm in size, Dust filter for fans, 120 mm LED fans, ATX and microATX motherboard support, front USB 3.0 port, four 3.5 inch and 2.5-inch drive bays for SSD or HDD. If you don’t like this cabinet, go for any other cabinet of your choice there are so many gaming cabinet options in the Rs 3000 to 4000 range.

Power Supply (SMPS)

Corsair VS-550 is the power supply for our build, a VS450 could do the job but if you want to upgrade your components in future  VS 550 is the option to go with. If you want to save some money you can go for the Corsair VS450 it will be sufficient for this build.
